Keeping Track – April 2009

Wow, another month done and dusted. I’m so proud to announce that this month has been my best ever in terms of the stash reduction … weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Just the teeny tiny ball of Qiviuk, and two lovely skeins of laceweight silk and silk blend, dyed by the talented new dyer around town, Knitabulous, came in!

Mmmm, lovely green of Ivy League:

And gorgeous red of Pope’s Slippers:

I also received my prize cashmere from Colourmart – but since gift/prize yarn doesn’t count in my stash accumulation rules (since it wasn’t due to any positive action on my part to purchase!!) that means that this month is the first month ever (in the last 16 months) that my outgoings are more than my incomings!! Wow.

This is the 4ply I bought for the Rowan cardigan (still in its protective wrappers!) in a lovely olivey/dusky green:
And this is (from L-R) 3ply laceweight in Pinot, 8ply in Red, and 2ply laceweight in Siberian Sky
Excellent service and amazing yarns from Colourmart – can’t recommend them highly enough!
So here’s the monthly wrap up:
In: 4.5 x 50g balls
Out: 7 x 50g balls
YTD: 42.5 x 50g balls! Yes! Finally went down from the previous month, rather than up!

  1. It’s all so loveleeeee!!!And I beg to differ. You actually had to donate to a worthy cause to get the colormart yarn. So while not actually a purchase, it did take action on your part.

  2. oooh, you’ve got some beautiful colours there. Looking forward to see what you make with them all.Well done too on using the stash. I’ve been trying to do the same thing and managed to have a good month this month. I didn’t go totally crazy with the credit card, just a little bit!!

  3. Might I be rude and point out that, while you didn’t take any action to add the Colormart yarns to your collection, they still increase the size of your stash? Logically, you should stop buying yarn altogether, or knit more quickly (hard to imagine), in the months you acquire ‘non-stash’ yarn. But I do have to admire your semi-honesty.

  4. Well done you :o) Love the Pope’s Slippers yarn – what a great name and the colour – wow! Also love your Hederas – beautiful job.

  5. Mmmm… gorgeous yarns!! I’m impatiently waiting for Ailsa’s handdyed shop, so I can try some too πŸ™‚

  6. tidy work, RoseRed, everyone else…just jealous!!!! πŸ™‚

  7. The Pope’s Slippers! Oh I can’t wait to see what you knit with that!

  8. Nice yarn! I agree with kgirl – they’re all jealous about your stash!

  9. I have never been a green person but I love the Ivy League color. Wow. That was truly a spectacular prize.

  10. sighCones of laceweight… be still my heart!

  11. I can’t WAIT to see the cardigan in progress! (And, as far as the coming in goes, at least it’s all great stuff, right?)

  12. Wow, before I was seeing all lovely blue yarns on blogs, and now I am seeing beautiful green ones!
